Talk about feeling the love! Joico Global Brand Ambassador and Artistic Director, Larisa Love, hit the road in March and April for her Modern Artist North American Tour – bringing invaluable expertise to sold-out audiences from east coast to west. We’ve got the pics, the details, and even Larisa’s heartfelt recollections from her cross-country travels….
Modern Artist Tour: The when, where, why…
It was 30 days, 21 cities, and 2 countries – an educational extravaganza that captivated audiences who turned out in droves to learn Larisa’s special brand of expertise. Bringing them everything from fashion-forward formulas to trends and techniques, she even addressed self-help subjects designed to nourish the artist mind, body, and soul
“I was so thrilled to shake things up in our industry and do something that’s never been done before — traveling on a tour bus from state to state; making the education experience affordable and intimate,” says our superstar.
Tour Talk – a Q/A with Larisa…

Joico: You had a lot of hopes and dreams for this tour. Was it everything you imagined?
Larisa: “Yes! Everything and more. I created an iconic moment in history, because this tour is something that has never been done before by another hair artist…to travel throughout all of North America; especially to small cities where there isn’t much education available. The experience was very special, and I felt the gratitude from the attendees’ hearts.”
Joico: We know it’s not fair to play favorites, lol. But did you have a best-loved stop?
Larisa: “There were a quite a few, actually…Florida, Nevada, Idaho, and San Antonio, TX. The energy in those places was unmatched; and I feed off of peoples’ energy. The more they give me, the more I can provide!”

Joico: Tell us what made this kind of education different and special?
Larisa: “This was 100% my own – from my teaching, to my techniques, and even to topics that are not talked about and normalized in our industry. I addressed topics like health, pricing, mentorship, and styling. But the most important thing I wanted everyone to grasp was authenticity…and how being authentic to yourself as an artist will lead you to a very full career and life.”
Joico: Any big learning curves?
Larisa: “The biggest challenges were actually [logistical] – like carrying all the products and merchandise; and not having enough room to walk around in the bus; boxes would fall over every day! (Which we solved them by bungee-cording them.) But actually, all the preparation and hard work that my team and I did made this tour a true success. After saying goodbye to it, I feel as though a revival and a movement has started.”
Bummed you missed it? Head’s up: Larisa has plans for a fall tour in the works. Stay tuned for updates!
