✔️ Step 1: Brush out the tangles on DRY hair
Big reason for this: Hair is most fragile and compromised when it’s wet. Brushing things out dry – when the cuticle is stronger, explains Olivia – avoids breakage.

Brushing in a horizontal position puts too much tension on hair strands and can cause breakage; a vertical brush-through works to gently detangle.

Olivia literally dips her long hair over the sink and lets the flow of water saturate her strands, gently squeezing out excess water with her hands.
